Our family, along with our dog family, live in north west Alabama at the foothills of the Appalachian mountains near beautiful Lewis Smith Lake.

We are dedicated to preserving the integrity, versatility, and sound structure of the Australian Shepherd through thoughtful, purpose-driven breeding.  Our dogs are AKC and ASCA registered, and carefully selected for temperament, intelligence, drive, and conformation.  

At Blackwater, we believe Australian Shepherds should remain true to the breed's original purpose - capable, versatile dogs with stable minds and loyal hearts. Every breeding is planned with a focus on health, structure, genetic soundness, and preserving the natural instincts that make this breed exceptional.
